The AACR–Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Research Challenge Grants support creative, paradigm-shifting research focused on invasive lobular carcinoma.
The program welcomes both researchers already working in lobular breast cancer and investigators from other cancer or biomedical research fields. Eligible projects may address the detection, diagnosis, pathology, treatment, surveillance, or prevention of recurrence in lobular breast cancer.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field.
- Applicants must be AACR Active members in good standing by the application deadline.
- Applicants cannot be employees or subcontractors of a U.S. federal government entity or for-profit private industry.
- Applicants cannot concurrently hold another AACR grant.
- There are no citizenship or geographic restrictions.
- Applicants working in a country where they are not citizens or permanent residents must have work authorization sufficient to complete the grant term.
Funding Details:
- Each grant provides USD 50,000 for one year.
- Funding may support direct and indirect research expenses attributable to the proposed project.
- Eligible expenses may include supplemental salary support, equipment, laboratory or research supplies, and other project-related research costs.
- The award is intended to support innovative and potentially paradigm-shifting ideas in invasive lobular carcinoma.
- The grant term begins on January 1, 2027.

- Award decision: December 2026.
- Grant term begins: January 1, 2027.
- Anticipated grant period: January 1–December 31, 2027.
