CRI Immuno-Informatics Postdoctoral Fellowship

The CRI Immuno-Informatics Postdoctoral Fellowship supports early-career scientists aiming to bridge the disciplines of immunology and data science. The program is open to computational biologists seeking immunology training, cancer immunologists seeking computational or genomics training, and candidates from other PhD disciplines entering this interdisciplinary field. The fellowship prepares researchers to pursue novel, hypothesis-driven studies that directly address gaps in cancer immunology by leveraging cutting-edge computational and high-throughput omics technologies.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be working in basic or translational immunology or cancer immunology
Must have a doctoral degree by the fellowship start date
Must perform the research at a non-profit institution in the US or abroad
Must be mentored by a faculty sponsor with the rank of assistant professor or higher
May not have more than 5 years of relevant postdoctoral experience (MDs do not count residency)
Should not have more than 3 years in sponsor’s lab at the start date, unless exceptional circumstances apply
Only one fellow per sponsor per application round
Faculty sponsors may not have more than three CRI-supported fellows at any time
No citizenship restrictions
Applicants are encouraged to include a co-mentor in either immunology or computational biology to address identified training gaps

Funding Details

Year 1: 74,000 USD stipend
Year 2: 76,000 USD stipend
Year 3: 78,000 USD stipend
Annual 5,000 USD institutional allowance for research supplies, travel, insurance, or childcare
Additional support for attending CRI’s annual International Cancer Immunotherapy Conference and Bioinformatics Bootcamp
No deductions for overhead permitted

Application Deadlines

March 1 and September 1 (or following Monday if on a weekend)
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time
Fellowship notifications are issued approximately 14–16 weeks after the deadline
Fellowship start dates must fall within 4–12 months of the deadline and activate on the first of the month
