
Harold E. Johns Studentship Program
The Harold E. Johns Studentship Program aims to inspire undergraduate students in physics or related disciplines to pursue careers in medical physics in oncology within the Ontario cancer care system. Named after the pioneering Canadian physicist Dr. Harold E. Johns, this 4-month research experience provides mentorship and hands-on project work at one of Ontario’s Regional Cancer Centres.
Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate students returning to study in a related program, OR Recent graduates enrolled or applying to a graduate physics/biophysics program

Must have a minimum GPA of 3.30

Must not have held this studentship previously

Must demonstrate a clear interest in medical physics

Juravinski Cancer Centre (Hamilton)

London Regional Cancer Program (London)

The Ottawa Hospital Regional Cancer Centre (Ottawa)

And 10 other regional centres across Ontario
Funding Details

Stipend administered through the host cancer centre

Funding is provided by Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario)

Students work closely with a supervisor on a defined project

Required to submit a final report (~5 pages) in an approved format
