Komen CCR Grants provide up to three years of protected research time for early-career breast cancer investigators working under the guidance of a Mentor Committee. Research must be hypothesis-driven and breast cancer-focused, aligned with Komen’s priorities: conquering metastatic and aggressive breast cancers, advancing personalized care, and improving health outcomes for all. This is a limited submission opportunity — each institution may nominate one applicant. Institutional internal deadlines have already begun (March 2026 at several universities), indicating the 2026–2027 RFA is imminent.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:
- Hold a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, DrPH, DO, or equivalent)
- Hold a full-time faculty appointment or confirmed offer letter by the application deadline
- Have held faculty appointments for no more than 6 years total
- Be nominated by their institution (no self-nominations)
Funding Details:
- Up to $450,000 over 3 years ($150,000/year, combined direct and indirect costs)
- Covers salary, supplies, research expenses, travel, and publication costs
Deadline:
- Institution opt-in: anticipated June 2026
- LOI due: anticipated late July 2026
- Full application (by invitation): anticipated October 2026
- Award notification: approximately April 2027
