Conquer Cancer Global Oncology Young Investigator Award 2027

The Conquer Cancer Global Oncology Young Investigator Award provides mentored research funding to early-career investigators conducting innovative research that addresses global cancer-control and healthcare needs.

The award supports projects led by investigators in low-resource settings, research conducted in high-resource settings that addresses challenges in resource-limited regions, and collaborations between investigators working across different resource settings. Eligible areas include clinical and translational research, innovative care delivery, cancer prevention, palliative care, implementation research, and health-systems, outcomes, and health-economics research. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must hold an MD, PhD, MD/PhD, DO, or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • Applicants must be in the final year of a fellowship or training program, within the first two years of a faculty or staff appointment at an academic institution, or within the first two years of employment at a non-academic institution.
  • Applicants must generally be within 10 years of receiving their terminal degree. Exceptions may be considered for certain international medical graduates.
  • Applicants must commit at least 60% of their full-time effort to research during the award period.
  • Eligible sponsoring organizations include universities, research organizations, government institutions, hospitals, nonprofit organizations, medical societies, advocacy organizations, foundations, and nongovernmental organizations.
  • U.S. and international institutions, including foreign entities, may apply.

Funding Details:

  • The award provides USD 50,000 for one year.
  • The number of awards available during each funding cycle is not predetermined.
  • Funding supports global oncology research conducted under the guidance of a scientific mentor.

Deadline:

  • Applications opened: July 1, 2026.
  • Letter of Intent deadline: September 10, 2026.
  • Invited full application deadline: January 15, 2027.
  • Award term: July 1, 2027–July 1, 2028.
