Gilead Research Scholars Program in Solid Tumors 2026

The Gilead Research Scholars Program in Solid Tumors 2026 supports early-career investigators conducting independent basic or clinical research addressing unmet needs in breast, endometrial, ovarian, or small cell lung cancer.

Gilead will provide a minimum of three awards of $180,000 each over two years. The first-stage application consists of a one-page Specific Aims submission due November 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must hold an MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent degree.
  • Candidates must be junior faculty meeting the NIH definition of an Early Stage Investigator.
  • The initial faculty appointment must have occurred within the previous 7 years.
  • Applicants must have institutional support allowing at least 30% professional time for research.
  • Applicants who already hold major NIH awards such as an R01, P01, or U01 as PI are generally ineligible.
  • Fellows are generally not eligible.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens/permanent residents or hold an appropriate visa allowing them to complete the two-year research period in the U.S.
