Pancreatic Cancer UK Career Foundation Fellowship 2026

Pancreatic Cancer UK Career Foundation Fellowship 2026

Due Date: 03/18/2026

Pancreatic Cancer UK’s Career Foundation Fellowship is designed to support early-career researchers who are developing the skills and building the evidence base to become independent investigators in the pancreatic cancer field. The fellowship bridges the gap between postdoctoral training and research independence, and is open both to researchers already working in pancreatic cancer and those wishing to redirect their expertise into the field. Proposals may address any aspect of pancreatic cancer research — from basic biology to clinical and quality-of-life research — as long as there is a clear and tangible line to improving patient outcomes. Patient and public involvement is a key evaluation criterion. Fellows are supported to build collaborations and often integrate stays at a second institution.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be early-career researchers demonstrating a trajectory toward independence
  • The host institution must be UK-based; a UK institution will hold the contract even if some fellowship time is spent abroad
  • Proposals may come from clinical or non-clinical researchers
  • At least one named supervisor at the host institution is required to provide a letter of support
  • Researchers from outside pancreatic cancer may apply in collaboration with an established pancreatic cancer expert
  • Research must align with Pancreatic Cancer UK’s Research Strategy and its key ambitions

Funding Details:

  • Multi-year fellowship; funding levels are competitive and commensurate with career stage (contact funder for exact budget parameters for the current round)
  • Covers fellow’s salary, research running costs, and appropriate travel
  • Awards are hosted at one UK institution with subcontracting arrangements permitted for time at other sites
