ACS: Extramural Discovery Science Accelerator Award
The Extramural Discovery Science Accelerator Award supports the commercialization of ongoing cancer research projects by funding critical experiments that help validate and de-risk technologies. Proposals must focus on a defined, commercially driven aim such as dosing, toxicity, or efficacy testing, and applicants must plan to license the technology to a start-up or established company if successful. This mechanism is not intended to launch new research directions.
Eligibility
- Independent investigators with full-time faculty appointments (or equivalent) at eligible US institutions
- Applicants may be at any career stage
- Must be motivated to commercialize a specific ongoing research project
- No prior ACS funding required
Grant Term and Budget
- 75,000 USD total costs for a 1-year project
- Indirect costs are not allowed
Application Timeline
- Rolling submission
- Applications submitted by June 1 will be reviewed in July (grants start September 2025)
- Applications submitted after June 1 will be reviewed in December (grants start April 2026)
- Applications must be submitted within 1 month of initiation on ProposalCentral
