The AACR Early-Career Scholar in the Field of Cancer Research Awards provide financial support to promising early-career cancer researchers to attend and participate in the AACR Annual Meeting 2027.
The program is intended to strengthen the scientific development of early-career researchers by giving them access to a major international cancer research meeting, scientific sessions, networking opportunities, and the broader cancer research community. The 2027 AACR Annual Meeting will take place April 2–7, 2027, in Orlando, Florida.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be full-time graduate students, medical students, residents, clinical fellows, or postdoctoral fellows.
- Applicants must be engaged in cancer research or have the training and potential to contribute to cancer research.
- Applicants must be presenters of a meritorious abstract at the AACR Annual Meeting.
- Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
- AACR membership is not required to apply for this award.
- Applicants must identify a faculty mentor who can certify the information provided in the application.
- Applicants may apply for other AACR travel awards but may accept only one AACR award to attend the Annual Meeting.
Funding Details
- Award: Travel/attendance support for the AACR Annual Meeting 2027.
- Funding can support travel, accommodation, and meals associated with attending the meeting.
- The award is subject to applicable federal income-tax regulations.

- Application Deadline: November 24, 2026
- The award application is separate from the abstract submission, and applicants must have an abstract submitted for presentation at the meeting. The AACR Annual Meeting 2027 regular abstract deadline is November 10, 2026.
