
Canadian Research Society: Doctoral Research Award
The Doctoral Research Award supports graduate students pursuing cancer-related research at a Canadian institution. This program is designed to fund future leaders in Canadian cancer research with financial support during their doctoral studies.
Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or hold a valid student permit.

Must reside in Canada throughout the entire award period.

Must have completed 12–36 months of full-time doctoral study at a Canadian institution by September 1, 2025.

Research must be cancer-related and carried out at a Canadian institution.

Fast-track or joint program applicants must contact CRS to confirm eligibility.
Funding Details

Total Award: $70,000 over 2 years ($35,000/year)
-
Funds are disbursed through the institution’s financial office in December and June.

Grantees may not hold another major overlapping award (> $15,000/year) during the term.

Awards are non-renewable.
