The Cancer Research Institute (CRI)–Chordoma Foundation Impact Grant 2027 supports translational research aimed at developing more effective immunotherapies for chordoma, a rare cancer affecting bones of the skull base and spine.

The joint program focuses on research that connects laboratory and clinical discovery and has a clear pathway toward improving outcomes for chordoma patients through new therapies, biomarkers, response prediction, or understanding mechanisms of treatment resistance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must hold a tenure-track assistant professor position or higher by award activation.
  • Applicants who do not yet hold the position may provide institutional documentation confirming that they will do so by activation.
  • There are no citizenship restrictions.
  • Researchers at eligible institutions in the United States or internationally may apply.
  • For-profit institutions are not eligible.
  • Research must have direct clinical relevance to chordoma and cancer immunology.
  • Projects should bridge laboratory and clinical discovery.

Funding Details

  • Funding: $300,000
  • Duration: 2 years
  • Indirect costs of up to 10% are provided in addition to the award.

Deadline

  • LOI deadline: December 1, 2026
  • Applicants notified about full proposals: by the end of January 2027
  • Invited full proposal: March 15, 2027
  • Earliest award activation: July 1, 2027
  • Applications close at 11:59 PM ET.
