American Cancer Society Cancer Health Equity Research Centers
The Cancer Health Equity Research Centers RFA funds multi-level, community-focused, solution-based research to address cancer health disparities. Projects must address social and structural drivers of health and demonstrate measurable impact on populations experiencing inequities across the cancer continuum.
Eligibility
- Independent researchers at eligible US academic institutions or nonprofits
- PIs must have a strong track record in cancer health equity research, leadership, mentoring, and funding
- Applicants from underrepresented groups and Minority Serving Institutions are encouraged to apply
- Previous CHERC awardees may apply for a competitive renewal (limited to one renewal)
Grant Term and Budget
- Total budget: 4.07M USD over 4 years
- 3.7M USD in direct costs + 10% indirect costs
- Funds include support for CHERC Supportive Core and subawards (e.g., RSGs at 215,000 USD/year; CSDGs at 135,000 USD/year)
- No budget cap on Core, but all activities must be justified

- LOI Decisions: April 15, 2025
- Full Applications Due: June 1, 2025
