UFHCI Cancer Control & Population Sciences Pilot Awards

The UF Health Cancer Institute (UFHCI) is accepting Pilot and Exploratory Study Proposals (PESPs) through its Cancer Control and Population Sciences (CCPS) Program. This funding supports cancer prevention–focused projects designed to generate pilot data for future extramural grants and career development awards.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must include at least one UFHCI CCPS Program member serving as Contact Principal Investigator.

  • Only independent investigators may apply as PI; faculty at all academic stages are eligible.

  • Applications must align with CCPS aims (cancer prevention, determinants of risk, survivorship, or intervention development/implementation).

Funding Details:

  • Up to 2 awards of $50,000 each (direct costs only).

  • Project must be completed within 1 year; approved no-cost extensions may allow carryover with justification.

  • IRB/IACUC approval required before fund distribution.
