Gilbert Family Foundation Brain Tumor Initiative – NF1 High-Grade Glioma RFP 2026

The Gilbert Family Foundation (GFF) Brain Tumor Initiative is requesting Letters of Intent for projects developing novel treatments for NF1-associated high-grade gliomas (HGAPs and GBMs). The goal is to accelerate transformative therapeutic strategies that can meaningfully impact disease progression and recurrence in neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) patients.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Principal Investigator must be an independent researcher at the level of Assistant Professor or above.

  • Research must focus on NF1-associated high-grade gliomas (HGAPs or GBMs); sporadic GBM with NF1 loss considered if relevance is justified.

  • Clinical trials are not eligible; projects must fall within lead optimization or development stages.

Funding Details:

  • Up to $400,000 per year in direct research costs.

  • Project duration: up to 5 years.

  • Indirect costs allowed up to 10% of total direct costs (excluding travel and equipment).

Deadline:

  • Letter of Intent Due: February 27, 2026 (5:00 PM ET).

  • Full Proposal Due (invited applicants only): May 15, 2026 (5:00 PM ET).
