The AGA-Bern Schwartz Family Fund Research Scholar Award in Pancreatic Cancer (Fund B) 2026 supports promising early-career faculty working toward independent research careers in pancreatic cancer. The program is designed to provide protected research time and career-development support for junior investigators conducting basic, translational, or clinical research relevant to pancreatic cancer.
One investigator will receive $100,000 per year for three years, totaling $300,000, with at least 50% effort dedicated to the proposed research project. Applications are open to eligible early-career investigators at institutions in the United States, Canada, or Mexico, with the award scheduled to begin in July 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
- Hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree, including MBChB, MBBS, DO, or an equivalent qualification.
- Be an early-career investigator.
- The award is intended for junior faculty and not fellows.

- MD or equivalent applicants must have no more than seven years between completion of clinical training, such as GI fellowship or its equivalent, and the July 2027 award start date.
- Appropriately documented leaves of absence, including parental or medical leave, are not counted toward the seven-year limit.
