The Research Foundation of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) funds research related to colorectal disease, including colorectal cancer. The Summer Cycle offers three award mechanisms: the General Surgery Resident Research Initiation Grant, the Rising Star Award (career development for trainees and junior faculty), and the BRIDGE Award. Applications open June 1, 2026. No LOI required.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:
- General Surgery Resident Research Initiation Grant: General surgery residents with demonstrated interest in colorectal surgery research
- Rising Star Award: PGY4+ general surgery residents planning a CRS fellowship, CRS residents, or faculty within first 3 years of practice; must be ASCRS Member or Candidate Member
- BRIDGE Award: See RFA for specific eligibility
