
AACR Gertrude B. Elion Cancer Research Award
The AACR Gertrude B. Elion Cancer Research Award, supported by GlaxoSmithKline, provides one-year grants to support tenure-eligible junior faculty conducting research in cancer etiology, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention. Research may be basic, translational, or clinical in nature.
Eligibility Criteria

Hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) in a related field.

Hold a tenure-eligible appointment at the rank of assistant professor (not research-track, adjunct, visiting, or instructor appointments).

Started first independent faculty position within the past six years (after November 1, 2019).

Applicants with a medical degree must have completed their most recent doctoral degree or residency within the past six years.

Must have independent laboratory space.

Open to applicants working at academic, medical, or research institutions worldwide.

AACR membership is required by the Letter of Intent deadline.

Eligible expenses include salary, research staff, supplies, equipment, travel, and publication charges.
