LBCA–Conquer Cancer Early Investigator ILC Research Grant 2026

LBCA–Conquer Cancer Early Investigator ILC Research Grant 2026

Due Date: 03/23/2026

The Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance (LBCA)–Conquer Cancer Early Investigator ILC Research Grant supports early-career physician-scientists conducting research on invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) — a breast cancer subtype that accounts for approximately 10–15% of all breast cancers yet remains critically underrepresented in both clinical research and funding landscapes. Administered through the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), this mentored one-year award of $50,000 is designed to build a new generation of investigators focused exclusively on ILC biology, detection, and treatment. The application deadline for the 2026 cycle is March 23, 2026, making this one of the most urgent opportunities in this collection.

  • Must be in the last two years of an oncology subspecialty fellowship OR within the first two years of a first faculty or staff appointment at the time of submission
  • Must have a senior mentor at the sponsoring institution with expertise in the proposed research area
  • Research must focus on invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC); proposals addressing other breast cancer subtypes are not eligible
  • ASCO membership (or concurrent application) required
  • Must commit a minimum of 50% effort to research during the grant period
  • Open to U.S. and international applicants
