This 2026 Conquer Cancer Career Development Award (CDA) is a special competition focused on Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) research. It provides junior faculty with funding and protected time to develop independent research in TNBC, an aggressive breast cancer subtype with unmet needs. Projects can range from translational laboratory studies to clinical trials or population studies, aiming to improve understanding or outcomes in TNBC. By bolstering early-career investigators, the CDA helps build the next generation of breast cancer clinician-scientists.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Junior faculty (typically instructor or assistant professor level) within 5 years of fellowship training, with a focus on breast cancer research.
  • Research proposal must specifically address triple-negative breast cancer (e.g. novel therapies, biomarkers, disparities, etc.).
  • Must have a committed mentor and institutional support; applicants should be ASCO members in good standing.

Funding Details:

  • Amount: $200,000 total over 3 years.
  • Use: Supports the awardee’s salary and project costs (e.g. personnel, supplies). The grant is intended to secure protected research time (~50%) for the investigator.
  • No indirect costs permitted. Award includes access to ASCO networking and career development resources.
