The California Breast Cancer Research Program (CBCRP) CRC Pilot Award supports the initial phase of community-partnered participatory breast cancer research, including strengthening collaborations, developing feasible methods and tools, and collecting pilot data. CRC projects are structured around shared decision-making and shared power, with a Community Co-PI and Academic Co-PI as equal partners. Projects are expected to address breast cancer priorities relevant to California communities.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Community Co-PI and Academic Co-PI as equal partners (CPPR structure required).
- Community Co-PI has strong ties to the community of interest.
- Project focuses on breast cancer and aligns with CBCRP Priority Issues.
- Research conducted primarily in California.
- Team involves the larger community in project work and dissemination.
Funding Details:
- Up to USD 200,000 total project direct costs.
- Up to 18 months maximum duration.
- Indirect costs are allowed.
- Indirect cost limits: UC campuses up to 35% MTDC (25% for off-campus); other institutions up to 25% MTDC or negotiated rate (whichever is higher).
