Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance-AACR Career Development Award

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance-AACR Career Development Award supports early-career investigators conducting groundbreaking research in invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC). This two-year, USD 150,000 grant aims to accelerate the discovery, development, and application of new strategies to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes of patients with lobular breast cancer.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) in a related field.

  • Must not currently be a candidate for another doctoral or professional degree.

  • Must hold a faculty position (assistant professor, instructor, research assistant professor, or equivalent) by July 1, 2026.

  • Future positions must be confirmed and not contingent upon receiving this grant.

  • Must have started the first independent faculty position on or after July 1, 2020.

  • Must have independent laboratory space confirmed by the host institution.

  • Must be employed at an academic, medical, or research institution anywhere in the world.

  • No citizenship or geographic restrictions, but visa status must ensure full completion of the project.

  • Must be an Active AACR member in good standing or apply by the Letter of Intent (LOI) deadline.

Funding Details:

  • Total Amount: USD 150,000 (over 2 years).

  • Start Date: July 1, 2026.

  • Permitted Uses: Project-related expenses including salary support, lab supplies, and equipment.

  • Indirect Costs: Up to 5% of the total grant allowed.

Deadline:

  • LOI Deadline: December 16, 2025 (1:00 PM ET).

  • LOI Notification: February 2026.

  • Full Application Deadline: April 7, 2026 (1:00 PM ET).

  • Decision Date: June 2026.
