The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF)–AACR NextGen Grant for Transformative Cancer Research in honor of Nancy E. Davidson, MD supports innovative, paradigm-shifting cancer research by early-career investigators. The grant aims to foster scientific independence and accelerate progress in breast cancer prevention, detection, and treatment through high-impact, creative research.
Eligibility Criteria:
- 
Must hold a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor appointment (or equivalent) by July 1, 2026. 
- 
Appointments such as research assistant professor, adjunct assistant professor, assistant professor research track, visiting professor, or instructor are not eligible. 
- 
Must have held a tenure-eligible appointment for no more than three years (not before July 1, 2023). 
- 
Must be employed at an academic, medical, or research institution anywhere in the world. 
- 
No citizenship or geographic restrictions, but visa status must allow completion of the grant term. 
- 
Must be an Active AACR member in good standing by the Letter of Intent deadline. Nonmembers must apply for membership and obtain a nominator who is an active AACR member. 
Funding Details:

Total funding: 450,000 USD. 
- 
Grant term: 3 years (starting July 1, 2026). 
- 
Funds may support salary and benefits of the PI, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, research assistants, equipment, supplies, travel, and publication costs. 
- 
Indirect costs are permitted.
