The AST Research Network Fellowship Research Grant supports early-career investigators pursuing research in solid organ transplantation or related immunology. The grant is designed to advance transplant science and foster the development of future academic leaders in transplantation research.
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant must hold an MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent degree.

Must be within two years of post-doctoral research training (not including clinical training).

Must remain at the fellowship level throughout the funding period (cannot hold a faculty or senior staff position).

Research must commence by July 1, 2026, in a North American research setting.

Applicant must have a sponsor who is an active AST member (or has applied for membership).

Applicant must be a U.S., Canadian, or Mexican citizen, permanent resident, or a lawfully admitted foreign national residing in North America during the award period.

Applicants with concurrent salary-support grants (e.g., NIH K-series) are ineligible.
Funding Details:

Amount: 75,000 USD for one year.

Focus areas: Basic, translational, or clinical research in solid organ transplantation.

Funds may be used for salary or research costs but not for institutional overhead, travel, or capital equipment.

Research must begin July 1, 2026 (no deferrals allowed).

Recipients will be recognized at the 2026 American Transplant Congress (June 20–24, Boston, MA).
