The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) invites applications for the 2026 Sparkathon, a leadership and collaboration program for early-career scientists and physicians developing careers in next-generation cellular therapies, T cell engagers, and combination immunotherapies. Twelve participants (“Sparkies”) will be selected to join this intensive professional development and scientific retreat.
Eligibility criteria:

Open to early-career MDs, PhDs, or equivalent planning to transition to an independent position within 2–3 years.

Applicants must demonstrate research and commitment to cellular therapies, T cell engagers, or combination immunotherapies.

Prior SITC involvement (e.g., attending events, presenting, receiving SITC awards, or participating in SITC CONNECT) is desirable.

Must attend the full in-person retreat (March 23–25, 2026, Tucson, AZ) and SITC Annual Meeting (Phoenix, AZ).

Past Sparkathon participants are not eligible.
Funding details:

Accepted participants receive complimentary registration and lodging for the Sparkathon program and the SITC Spring Scientific program (March 25–27, 2026).

Participants will present their research, collaborate on a perspective paper, and gain mentorship and leadership training.

No direct financial stipend is provided.
