AHNS Presidential Award: Defining and Implementing Value-Based Care in Head and Neck Cancer

The American Head and Neck Society (AHNS) Presidential Award supports research that advances value-based care frameworks in head and neck oncology. Projects should focus on improving measurable aspects of care quality, process adherence, and outcomes while reducing costs through innovation and multidisciplinary approaches.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must reside in the U.S. or Canada and be AHNS members in good standing.

  • Eligible applicants include medical students, residents, fellows, graduate students, PhDs, and faculty up to the rank of associate professor.

  • Trainee applicants must have appropriate faculty mentorship.

  • Applicants with concurrent private or federal funding for the same project are not eligible.

Funding details:

  • Maximum amount: 15,000 USD.

  • Duration: 12 months, non-renewable.

  • Funds may be used for research personnel, consultant fees, lab supplies, software, or publication costs.

  • Principal Investigator salary not allowed; indirect costs capped at 10%.

  • Equipment and supplies become property of the recipient institution.

Deadline:

  • Letter of Intent: December 15, 2025.

  • Full application: January 15, 2026 (11:59 p.m. EST).

  • Notification: June 2026.

  • Award start date: as early as July 1, 2026, and no later than January 1, 2027.
