Eligibility Criteria:

Mid-career researcher already driving an independent programme.

One–two substantial post-training research periods and significant contributions to the field.

Administering organisation in the UK, Republic of Ireland, or an eligible low-/middle-income country (not India or mainland China).

Must devote ≥80% research time to the award.

Salary request depends on contract status; IAS and clinical rules per guidance.

Not eligible if holding/accepting an equivalent award at this stage or transferring funds to mainland China.
Funding Details:

Ask for justified resources for up to ~8 years (typical annual spend below £250k excluding PI salary; higher requests face added scrutiny).

Covers PI salary (if eligible), staff, consumables, equipment, access charges, travel, overheads, and other allowable research costs; Global Talent visa endorsement included.

No renewals; one award maximum.
