3–5 years of mentored career development for advanced U.S. postdocs or junior faculty to build independent global health research careers through sustained, in-country research at an LMIC site; this K01 requires leading an independent clinical trial (or feasibility/ancillary trial).
Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate: U.S. citizen/national or permanent resident; ≥2 years post-doctorate; full-time appointment; 75% effort to K01; Multiple PD/PI not allowed.

LMIC time: ≥50% of cumulative effort across the award and ≥3 months/yr physically at LMIC site.

Mentors: One primary U.S. mentor (at applicant institution) and one primary LMIC mentor (primary appointment at LMIC institution); both must have eRA Commons IDs.

Orgs: U.S. higher-ed and other eligible U.S. institutions; foreign organizations not eligible to apply (foreign components allowed).
