National Cancer Institute Youth Enjoy Science Research Education Program

Institutional program to engage grades 6–12 and/or undergraduate students (and optionally teachers/faculty) in cancer research experiences, paired with curriculum/methods development and outreach to families/communities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • U.S. institutions (universities, nonprofits, governments, school districts); foreign organizations not eligible.

  • PD/PI: established investigator able to lead/administer program; mentors with relevant research expertise.

  • Participants (students, teachers, faculty): U.S. citizens/nationals or permanent residents, currently enrolled/employed.

  • Program must include all three required components: Research Experiences, Curriculum/Methods Development, and Outreach. No clinical trials.

Funding Details:

  • Up to USD 400,000 USD direct costs per year.

  • Project period up to 5 years.

  • F&A/Indirects: 8% of modified total direct costs.
