
Hyundai Hope On Wheels — Bridge2K Award
One-year seed funding to help junior pediatric oncology faculty resubmit strong but unfunded NIH K08/K23/K99 applications, accelerating career development and translational impact in childhood cancer.
Eligibility Criteria:

MD or MD/PhD pediatric oncologist, junior faculty (≤ Assistant Professor) in a COG member institution.

Submitted a pediatric cancer–focused K08/K23/K99/R00 within the past 18 months that was scored but not funded (clock starts at review date).

Institutional commitment letter (space, protected time, mentoring committee, resubmission timeline).

No more than USD 250,000/year in other research funding; no concurrent HHOW funding; max two Bridge2K submissions; prior Bridge2K recipients ineligible.
Funding Details:

USD 150,000 total for 1 year, plus up to 10% indirects.

Allowable: PI and research staff salary/benefits, research supplies.

Not allowed: equipment, travel.

Funds must be used within 12 months; no-cost extensions not permitted; award not transferable.

Clinical trials and correlative studies within trials are ineligible (translational research only).
