
Focused Ultrasound Foundation — Research Funding
Milestone-driven preclinical and clinical awards for non-invasive, image-guided focused ultrasound (FUS) projects, prioritized in oncology and neurodegenerative disease, with emphasis on immunomodulation, neuromodulation, gene/cell therapy, drug delivery (BBB), and sonodynamic therapy.
Eligibility Criteria:

Project must use image-guided focused ultrasound to treat disease.

PI in a tenure-track faculty role (academia) or full-time employee (industry); fellows/postdocs require a tenure-track Co-PI.

Proposals must be milestone-driven; global applicants welcome.
Funding Details:

Preclinical and clinical award tracks; scope-appropriate budgets.

Payments tied to milestones (preclinical) or per-patient visits (clinical).

Allowable: salary/benefits (within NIH cap), consumables, animal/vivarium, data collection/analysis, IRB fees, select travel, sample storage.

Not allowed: indirect/overhead, capital equipment, tuition, product development.

Company awards may use a SAFE or royalty agreement; IP revenue-sharing applies.

Invited full proposals due within 90 days; funding decisions on a rolling schedule (meetings every ~2 weeks).
