
AGA–R. Robert & Sally Funderburg Research Award in Gastric Cancer
Supports established investigators pursuing novel approaches in gastric cancer biology, prevention, diagnosis, or treatment. USD 100,000 total over two years (USD 50,000/year).
Eligibility Criteria:

Established independent investigator in gastric biology.
– MD: ≥7 years since completion of GI fellowship by April 2026.
– PhD: ≥7 years since PhD conferral by April 2026. -
MD/PhD (or equivalent) with a full-time faculty (or equivalent) post at a North American institution (U.S., Canada, Mexico).

AGA membership at submission.

Any research type relevant to gastric cancer (basic, translational, clinical).

AGA Institute Governing Board members are ineligible while serving.
Funding Details:

USD 100,000 total over 2 years.

Allowable: PI and key staff salary/benefits; biostatistical support; supplies/animals/equipment/other necessary materials.

Not allowed: indirect costs; travel.

Annual scientific and financial reports required.

Award overlap: may not hold a comparable award for the same project; must choose if a duplicate award is received.
