
CPRIT RFA R-26.2-MIRA: Multi-Investigator Research Awards
The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) is inviting applications for Multi-Investigator Research Awards that fund highly integrated, cross-disciplinary programs focused specifically on childhood and adolescent & young adult (AYA) cancers, with an emphasis on improving cancer care delivery and survivorship services. Up to USD 5,000,000 total is available over 5 years (up to USD 1,000,000 per year).
Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must be a Texas-based not-for-profit research institution/organization; public or private companies are ineligible. One new application per institution in this cycle.

Contact PI and all Multi-PIs must hold a doctoral degree (e.g., MD, PhD) and reside in Texas while the research is conducted.

Minimum effort: PI 20% across the project; each MI 10% for each project/core they direct.

Collaborators may be outside Texas, but non-Texas organizations and collaborators cannot receive CPRIT funds; equipment purchased may not leave Texas.

Program structure: 3–5 research projects; Administrative Core required; up to 3 additional technical cores (max 4 total cores).
Funding Details

Total budget: up to USD 5,000,000 over a maximum of 5 years (typically up to USD 1,000,000/year).

Allowable costs include salary/fringe, research supplies, equipment, clinical costs, pilot projects, travel, and core resources; construction/renovation is not allowed.

Indirect costs are capped at 5% of the total award.

Matching funds: prior to disbursement, awardee must demonstrate available funds equal to one-half of CPRIT funding at contract execution and annually thereafter.
