
Conquer Cancer Young Investigator Award
A one-year, $50,000 mentored grant supporting early-career physician–scientists transitioning from fellowship to faculty, to conduct cancer research under the guidance of an experienced mentor.
Eligibility:

Degrees: MD, DO, or international equivalent (MD/PhD eligible if both completed before grant start).

Training Stage: Within the last 2 years of oncology subspecialty training or fellowship (exceptions may apply for structured research years or recent graduates).

Time Since Degree: Within 10 years of medical degree (exceptions for international graduates).

Career Plan: Committed to an investigative career in oncology.

License: Active medical license where research will be conducted.

Environment: Based in an oncology laboratory or clinical research setting with an institutional mentor.

Mentor: Must have a mentor at the sponsoring institution (ASCO member or with ASCO member endorsement).

ASCO Membership: Applicant must be (or apply to become) an ASCO member.

Effort: ≥ 60 percent protected time for research during the award period.
Funding Available:

Amount: $50,000 for personnel and/or research expenses

Term: 1 year (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027)

Travel: Supported travel to the Conquer Cancer Grants & Awards Ceremony at the ASCO Annual Meeting

Concurrent Funding: Allowed if no scientific or budgetary overlap
