The Early-stage FY 2024 Infectious Diseases and Immunology Research: U.S.-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program Collaborative Awards invite binational or multinational teams to pursue cutting-edge studies in infectious diseases and immunology, with joint funding from AMED (Japan) and NIAID (USA).

Award Size: USD 60 000 per project, disbursed 50 % in JFY 2024 and 50 % in JFY 2025

Research Period: JFY 2024–JFY 2025

Expected Awards: 4–6 projects

Collaborative teams with investigators from:

Japan + USA, or
-
Japan + USA + other Asia-Pacific country(ies)

Each application must designate both a Japanese sub-team PI and a U.S. sub-team PI who is an early-stage or female investigator

Host institutions in Japan must contract via AMED and meet AMED’s terms & conditions

Full Proposal: Submit through CRDF Global’s portal by June 3, 2024.

Japanese Sub-team: Complete e-Rad registration by June 5, 2024.
