
2026 Health Delivery Research Career Development Award
The 2026 Health Delivery Research Career Development Award supports health professionals and academic health researchers to undertake a funded placement within a health delivery research team, health sector setting, or health delivery policy environment in New Zealand, aiming to improve healthcare delivery through hands-on engagement with system priorities.
Eligibility Criteria:

Professional Background: Clinical or non-clinical health professionals, or academic health researchers with ≥5 years’ cumulative experience in health sector or health delivery research.

Host Support: Mandatory letter of support from the host organisation(s) confirming:

Organisational endorsement of the placement

Availability of appropriate supervision and mentoring

Defined placement research or related activities

Placement Location:

Health professionals: must join a team conducting health delivery research

Health researchers: must be placed in a health sector or policy setting

Funding Details:

Salary Support: Full salary costs for the fellow, paid to the host organisation

Host Contribution: Additional NZD 20,000 supplement to the host for training, mentorship, or project expenses
