The NMRC Centre Grant (CG) builds core research capabilities within Singapore’s public healthcare institutions and clusters by funding shared platforms, equipment, and manpower. CG fosters institutional and cross-institutional collaboration to drive transdisciplinary research aligned with RIE2025 healthcare goals.
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant: Public Healthcare Institutions (PHIs) or Regional Health Systems (RHSes) in Singapore.

PI/Lead: Institutional Head endorsement required; leadership team must detail programmatic structure for resource sharing, management, and integration of research with education/training.

Scope: Grants must enhance existing institutional capabilities or develop new core resources under mentorship (Category 3), avoiding duplication of mature institutional platforms.
Funding Details:

Category 1 – Established Centres: Up to S$20 million over 4 years for individual PHIs/RHSes to strengthen existing capabilities.

Category 2 – Collaborative Centres: Up to S$7 million over 4 years for joint PHI collaborations; priority to projects in cancers, cardiovascular, infections, eye, metabolic/endocrine, neuroscience, or mental health.

Category 3 – Developing Centres: Up to S$3 million over 4 years for PHIs building new or nascent capabilities under a named mentor or partner.
Areas of Focus:

Translational outcomes that advance RIE2025 HHP goals: sustainable healthcare outcomes, population/preventive health, epidemic preparedness, digital health, and the quadruple aim (better health, managed costs, improved patient experience, provider satisfaction).

Submit your institution-level application with Head’s endorsement by Friday, June 18, 2021, 5:00 PM SGT. Late or unendorsed submissions will not be considered.
