AACR-Hope Scarves Metastatic Breast Cancer Innovation & Discovery Grant

The AACR-Hope Scarves grant provides $50,000 USD over one year to accelerate translation of pioneering ideas in metastatic breast cancer—spanning basic, clinical, and translational research. It supports new therapeutic targets, biomarker discovery, and the next generation of cancer investigators.

Eligibility Criteria:

Doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) and not a current doctoral candidate.
Independent investigator at an academic, medical, or non-profit research institution as of November 1, 2025.
Postdoctoral or clinical fellows are not eligible (they should apply for AACR Fellowships).
U.S. government or for-profit industry employees/subcontractors may serve as collaborators but cannot receive grant funds.
Must be an AACR Active Member in good standing by the July 24, 2025 deadline (dues requirements waived in capacity-building countries).
No citizenship or geographic restrictions, but visa status must allow completion of work at the applicant’s institution within the grant term.

Funding Details:

Amount: $50,000 USD total over one year (November 1, 2025–October 31, 2026).
Allowable Costs: Research‐related expenses—including supplemental salary support, equipment, supplies, and other project costs.
Exclusions: Indirect costs (overhead) are not allowed.
