
Brian Morrison Graduate Memorial Award in Palliative Medicine
Funded by a gift from the family and friends of the late Brian Morrison, this annual award supports a resident or fellow in the U of T Department of Medicine who has demonstrated exceptional scholarly interest and achievements in palliative medicine. Awardees receive financial support to advance a research, education, or quality-improvement project under the guidance of the Faculty of Medicine’s advisory committee.
Eligibility Criteria:

Must be a resident or fellow in the University of Toronto Department of Medicine.

Demonstrate academic excellence and a clear research or scholarly focus in palliative medicine.

Identify and secure supervision by a U of T Faculty of Medicine member and the Division of Palliative Medicine Director.

Propose a feasible project with potential to advance palliative-medicine scholarship.
Funding Details:

One award granted annually (amount determined by the advisory committee).

Supports project costs or related degree expenses.

Awardee must present project outcomes at the Division of Palliative Medicine’s annual Research Day.

If no candidate meets criteria, the award may be withheld and offered the following year.
