Eligibility Criteria:

Full-time clinical faculty appointed as Clinician Scientist (Assistant Professor) via external search.

Transitioning Clinician Investigators may apply within the first five years of their original appointment, with remaining years of eligibility.

Ineligible if appointed with an endowed or limited-term chair/professorship, alternate physician funding arrangement (e.g., Medical Oncology APP), or peer-review salary award ≥ $40K/year at appointment.

Must maintain Clinician Scientist status and not receive external salary support ≥ $40K/year; otherwise funding stops or is topped up by $10K/year (pro-rated) if external support ≥ $40K/year.
Funding Details:

Amount: $40,000 CAD annually for up to five years, paid to the individual’s practice plan.

If external salary support ≥ $40K/year is awarded during the term, DoM funding pauses or provides a $10K/year top-up (pro-rated).

Leave of absence (e.g., parental leave) may suspend and resume support.
