
EHA Advanced Research Grant
The European Hematology Association (EHA) Advanced Research Grant provides €80,000 per year for three years to support basic or translational lab-based hematology research—empowering talented junior investigators to gain leadership experience and transition toward independent group-leader roles .
Eligibility Criteria:

EHA Membership & Institution: Applicant must be an EHA member employed at an academic research centre or proven equivalent in Europe, with departmental and institutional support .

Research Focus: Project must involve basic or translational laboratory research in hematology; purely clinical or health-economics projects are ineligible (unless a novel translational component of a clinical trial) .

Career Stage: PhD or PharmD awarded between four and eight years before the application deadline; extensions may be granted under EHA’s Policy on Life Events for major personal circumstances.

Amount: 80,000 EURO per year (direct costs)

Duration: Three years

Use of Funds: Salary support, consumables, reagents, small equipment, and research-related travel. Overheads are not covered.

Topic-In-Focus Option: Up to two grants reserved for hemoglobinopathies or precision hematology projects; applicants may also qualify for extended eligibility in specific low-resource countries.
