
AAPG Foundation Geoscience Research Grant
The AAPG Foundation awards grants to support educational, charitable, and scientific geoscience projects that benefit the geologic profession and the public—funding exploration, research, outreach, and capacity-building initiatives worldwide.
Eligibility Criteria:

U.S. or international organizations, or individuals, conducting geoscience work.

If U.S. organization: must be 501(c)(3) public charity (not private foundation); submit IRS determination letter and most recent Form 990.

If U.S. individual: submit completed Form W-9.

If non-U.S. organization: provide equivalent charitable documentation.

If non-U.S. individual: submit Form W-8BEN.

Must commit to provide quarterly progress reports and sign a Grant Acceptance Agreement if funded .
Funding Details:

Amount: Variable—based on project budget and Foundation priorities; over $20 million invested to date.

Use of Funds: Education, outreach, research expenses, equipment, travel, and operational costs directly related to the approved geoscience project.

Disbursement: Funds issued by check upon signed Grant Acceptance Agreement; unused funds must be returned .
Deadline:
Rolling submissions; proposals reviewed within 90 days of receipt and presented at the next quarterly Trustees meeting .
