
American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant (IRG)
The ACS Institutional Research Grant supports early‐career Assistant Professors and Instructors—physicians, physician-scientists, population-based and basic/translational investigators—at MCL/UTL institutions to develop independent cancer research programs and leadership in academic medicine.
Eligibility Criteria:

Assistant Professors or Instructors within six years of their first independent appointment at MCL/UTL institutions.

Demonstrated potential and interest in leading a cancer research program.

Initial productivity in cancer or related biomedical research, with a strong academic record and letters of recommendation.

Not eligible: Previous IRG recipients or those holding NIH (K99, R00, R01, R03, R21), ACS, NSF, or VA independent grants.

Non-U.S. citizens must hold a visa permitting completion of the one-year project and provide documentation at submission.
Funding Details:

Amount: 50,000 USD (direct costs)

Term: 1 year (January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026)

Use of Funds: Salary support and research expenses to build preliminary data and establish independent funding.
