
AACR-Hope Scarves Metastatic Breast Cancer Innovation and Discovery Grant
A one-year, 50,000 USD award to support innovative basic, clinical, or translational research directly relevant to metastatic breast cancer, fostering the next generation of cancer investigators.
Eligibility Criteria:

Hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) and not be enrolled in another doctoral program.

Serve as an independent investigator at an academic, medical, or non-profit research institution by November 1, 2025.

Confirm any future position at the time of application; it cannot be contingent on receiving this grant.

Postdoctoral or clinical fellows, or equivalent mentored positions, are not eligible.

Employees or subcontractors of U.S. government entities or for-profit industry may not receive funds but may participate as collaborators without salary support.

No citizenship or residency restrictions, provided visa status allows completion of the project.

AACR Active Member in good standing by the application deadline (dues waived for members in capacity-building countries). Nonmembers must secure an AACR Active Member nominator.

Term: 1 year (November 1, 2025–October 31, 2026)

Allowable Expenses: Supplemental salary, equipment, laboratory supplies, and other direct research costs. (Indirect costs are not permitted.)
