NIH: Population Approaches to Reducing Alcohol-related Cancer Risk
This grant supports interdisciplinary population-level research to increase awareness of the link between alcohol consumption and cancer risk, change related social norms, evaluate alcohol policy, and develop interventions to reduce this risk. The focus includes understanding varying levels of consumption—from moderate to heavy drinking—and includes alcohol use disorder (AUD) as a factor in cancer prevention and control. Emphasis is placed on proposals addressing health disparities among underserved populations, including American Indian and Alaskan Native groups.
