
ASH: Visitor Training Program
The Visitor Training Program (VTP) provides short-term (up to 12 weeks) clinical or laboratory training for hematologists and related healthcare professionals from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Training is hosted by an ASH member mentor at a global institution and focuses on a specific technique or topic that addresses a hematology-related need. Participants return to their home institutions to implement their newly acquired skills to improve local hematology patient care.
Eligibility Criteria:

Must be a hematologist or hematology-related healthcare professional
-
Must work in a hospital, clinic, or laboratory in an LMIC (as defined by ASH)
-
Must be permanently employed (fellows or trainees are ineligible)

Must have an ASH member mentor (no mentor-matching available through ASH)
-
Home institution must have the infrastructure and supplies to support the new skill

Individual research projects are not eligible
-
ASH membership not required for applicants
Host Mentor Requirements:

Must be an ASH member in good standing
-
Can be located in any country
-
Must provide a letter of recommendation and complete the host mentor checklist

Daily living expenses for the entire training period (up to 12 weeks)
