
MRC Partnership Grant
The Medical Research Council (MRC) Partnership Grant supports the creation of new, high-value collaborative partnerships between diverse research teams in areas including infections and immunity, molecular and cellular medicine, neurosciences and mental health, and population and systems medicine. These partnerships are not for conducting research directly, but to enhance scientific programs through infrastructure, training, networking, and capacity building.
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be based at an MRC-eligible UK research organization

Must have completed the pre-application process and received an invitation to submit a full application
-
Must propose a novel partnership that enhances existing high-quality scientific programs
-
International researchers may participate as co-leads (international)
-
Project leads from MRC institutes or international institutions (excluding MRC Units in The Gambia and Uganda) are not eligible
Funding Details:

Duration: 1 to 5 years
-
No fixed funding cap; costs must be appropriate and well justified
-
MRC funds 80% of full economic costs and 100% of permitted exceptions
-
Costs can include salaries, technical staff, infrastructure, travel, equipment, and public engagement
-
Research projects themselves are not funded unless small-scale, high-risk pilot activities
