
Nordic Cancer Union Strategic Improvement Projects
The Nordic Cancer Union (NCU) provides strategic funding for high-quality improvement projects that address pressing cancer-related issues in the Nordic countries. These initiatives are designed to enhance infrastructure, cooperation, and research capacity across borders, delivering tangible benefits to healthcare systems and patient outcomes.
Project Focus

Must be relevant to cancer and demonstrate added Nordic value

Preferably involve healthcare professionals and/or researchers in two or more Nordic countries
-
Emphasis on infrastructure enhancement, collaborative implementation, and comparative Nordic health system analysis
-
Strong alignment with the NCU General Strategy and the Strategy for Improvement Projects
-
Particularly supportive of research-related improvements with cross-country applicability
Eligible Activities

Development and rollout of shared infrastructure or systems

Initiatives that strengthen cooperation and harmonization in cancer care or research
-
Comparative studies or pilots based on Nordic health data
-
Multidisciplinary collaboration with clear synergistic benefits
Application Requirements
Applications must include:

Cover letter explaining how the project aligns with NCU strategies

Project description (max 4 pages), including work plan and timeline

Detailed budget, including any other funding sources

Brief CVs of applicants, and full contact details of the principal applicant
Funding Terms & Conditions

Grants may only be used for the approved project scope

Any changes must receive prior NCU approval
-
Annual progress reports required for multi-year funding
-
Final report must be submitted at the conclusion of all projects

All external communications must credit NCU support
Deadline

Rolling application: Proposals can be submitted at any time

Applications are reviewed by the NCU Board upon receipt and may undergo external evaluation
