Dam Foundation 2025 Cancer Research Funding

The Dam Foundation is accepting cancer-related research applications for 2025 through the Norwegian Cancer Society. This funding supports projects that aim to improve the living conditions, health, and well-being of individuals and communities in Norway. It welcomes applications that advance public health, rehabilitation, care work, and social inclusion, with a strong emphasis on user participation throughout the research process.

Purpose of the Program

  • Address physical and mental health challenges

  • Promote quality of life, coping, and social participation

  • Foster equality for people with disabilities

  • Strengthen links between research and real-world health needs in Norway

  • Projects aligned with the Dam Foundation’s mission and the Norwegian Cancer Society’s strategy

  • Use of registered reports as a publication method is encouraged and offers a slightly higher approval probability

Two-Step Application Process

  1. Outline Application

    • Opens: November 15, 2024

    • Internal deadline: January 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. CET

    • Assessed by the Norwegian Cancer Society for strategic relevance

    • Submitted via Damnett: https://www.damnett.no

  2. Extended Application (by invitation only)

    • Internal deadline: May 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. CET

    • Final Dam deadline: June 10, 2025

    • Award announcement: October 15, 2025

Special Emphasis

  • User involvement is essential across all project phases

  • Applications must clearly state the value to users and the Cancer Society

  • Guidance and collaboration are available from the Society during both application phases
