
MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships support outstanding PhD researchers seeking to advance their careers through international mobility, skill development, and cutting-edge research. The program fosters excellence by funding independent research projects, helping researchers gain new experiences in other countries, disciplines, and sectors.
Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a PhD by the call deadline (September 10, 2025)

A maximum of 8 years of research experience post-PhD is allowed (excluding breaks or time outside research)

Applicants must comply with mobility rules, not having resided or worked in the target country for more than 12 months in the last 36 months

Both academic and non-academic host organisations in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries are eligible

All research disciplines are welcome

Applicants must apply jointly with a host organisation

Resubmission restrictions apply to proposals scoring below 70% in the previous year
Fellowship Types
-
European Postdoctoral Fellowships: 1–2 years in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country; open to researchers of any nationality

Global Postdoctoral Fellowships: 2–3 years, including 1–2 years in a non-associated Third Country followed by 1-year return to the EU or associated country; only for nationals or long-term residents of the EU or associated countries
Additional Opportunities

Secondments: Short-term placements allowed worldwide (except during the return phase of Global Fellowships)

Non-academic placements: Optional 6-month placements in non-academic sectors (EU/Associated Countries) at the end of the fellowship

Seals of Excellence will be awarded to proposals scoring ≥85% but not funded due to budget limits.
