
JSPS Postdoctoral Short-Term Fellowship
The JSPS Short-Term Postdoctoral Fellowship enables PhD students and early-career researchers from North America and Europe to participate in short-term collaborative research projects in Japan, supporting global research networks and scientific exchange.
Eligibility

Must be from the US, Canada, UK, EU, Switzerland, Norway, or Russia

PhD awarded on or after April 2, 2020, or currently enrolled with graduation expected within two years

Cannot be a resident of Japan or hold Japanese citizenship
Funding Details

Roundtrip airfare (economy class)
-
Monthly stipend: 362,000 Japanese Yen (PhD holders) or 200,000 Japanese Yen (non-PhD holders)

One-time settling-in allowance: 200,000 Japanese Yen (for stays 3 months or longer)

Overseas travel insurance

Research support allowance: up to 70,000 Japanese Yen per month

1 to 12 months of continuous stay
